Influence of Sheet Metal Pre-forming on Edge Crack Sensitivity using an AHSS Steel Grade

Abstract Especially in the automotive sector, high-strength sheet materials are processed manufacturing industry. These steels often show a pronounced sensitivity to edge cracks. Because of this, many crack testing methods for wide variety stress conditions have been developed describe material. Only hole expansion test according ISO 16630 has standardized. However, standardization some gaps process description, which resulted modifications. Another disadvantage is dependence results on machine operator. In past, influence shear cutting parameters die clearance, geometry, and type line was only calculated undeformed materials. Not operations carried out blanks context metal components, but more pre-formed sheets mechanically separated subsequently further formed. Therefore, it essential consider amount pre-forming introduced material The discrete types pre-forming, uniaxial tension, plane strain, equi-biaxial stretch forming were using dual-phase steel. Edge-Fracture-Tensile-Test used identify residual formability specimens.
